In his latest exhibition, “A Clean Sweep,” the now 24-year-old multimedia innovator and Cooper Union graduate goes in search of remnants of the gritty New York that were lost during the gentrification of the Giuliani era. The show is broken up into three parts: a group of free-standing brooms collected from New York City streets to symbolize the cleanup effort; 43 Polaroids of the city; and a short film narrated by writer Glenn O’Brien that will make you feel like you still live in the best city in the world. — By Araceli Cruz

The exhibition by Lucy Kirkman, A '09 presents imagined artifacts recovered from the infinite library described by Jorge Luis Borges. These partially dismembered books, thrown into the void, have followed some wayward path to the surfaces of her paintings. In Kirkman's paintings, book pages propagate and echo from piece to piece. Kirkman, borrowed from Yves Klein: "I begin, quite without emotion, by seizing Ariadne's thread, which for me is impalpable sensibility, new matter, and new dimension, before entering into the labyrinth of sentimentality." The assembled story, as a web of literary and art historical references, encourages your translation.
